Ollivant & Botsford

Equipped with a 9 ct solid gold 32 mm case, this watch hails from 1956. Ollivant & Botsford was a large gold/ silversmith in Manchester England until it was bought out by Mappin and Webb in 196x(?).

The watch is fitted with an ETA manual wind movement of 17 jewels, I am told. The watch was given to a Mr. J W Houghton for giving 25 years service to his employer.

There is some aging to the dial around the enclosed areas of the numerals but it is minor for a watch of this vintage.

Below: The back of the watch showing the still crisp inscription, the strap is genuine lizard as I think befits this handsome piece.
